The revenge of History
David Irving speaking at a rally of neo-Nazis in Germany several years ago. The banner behind I think reads 'The Truth will set you Free'. How apt - if Irving had not told lies about the Holocaust and about Hitler he would still be free and possibly still considered an historian. As it is, he became a Nazi sympathiser, a 'falsifier of history' and a Holocaust denier. Never mind jail, this Hitler worshipper deserves to rot in hell.

Well, at least we know where *you* stand on freedom of speech!
Yes, I don't want to ever see it trampled underfoot again as it was in Nazi Germany!
Just read that a proper historian (of anarchism) -Paul Avrich has died. RIP. See:

Share your sentiments about Irving but the state should not decide what can and can't be said.
Maps - Where did I (explicitly) say it should?
That was what was written over the gates of Dachau wasn't it
Notice how that slogan explicitely refers the slogan found at concentration camps, "Arbeit Macht Frei".
Nasty.
True.
More sickeningly, 'Arbeit Macht Frei' means something 'Work Makes you Free' - which is actually a Marxist idea utilised by the Nazis (National 'Socialists' remember).
"Well, at least we know where *you* stand on freedom of speech!"
I stand in the same place as anyone with any humanity - free speech is not freedom to express or incite hatred. My only regret is that Griffin and Collett are not currently rotting in prison as well.
